The Campmaster Corps. (who serve Will J. Reid Scout Park) and the Dockmaster Corps. (who serve Aquatics Seabase); consists of a group of selected, trained, and registered Scouters who stay on the property whenever Troops, Teams, Webelos Dens, or Posts are using any part of the property. A Campmaster/Dockmaster selects their own time and frequency of service.

Upon review and acceptance of an application the candidate will be required to attend an orientation training class and training weekend.

The program is a great way for you to enjoy the best of scouting, while sharing your skills as "host", caretaker, and experienced scouter.

We provide all of the training and fun; you just kick back, relax and assist your unit and others to have a great weekend.

The Long Beach Area Council – BSA manages three camping properties:
Will J Reid Scout Park , Aquatics Sea Base , and Camp Tahquitz . Our council defines the Campmaster as an individual responsible for the following:

1. Assist camp ranger with rental groups on the property.

2. Provide security when the ranger is not on the property for an extended period of time.

3. Assist with maintenance issues.

4. Assist camp ranger with work groups and or work weekends.

Interested scouters should contact the Scout Service Center at (562) 427-0911
