Scouting is about fun, adventure, and friends. It’s about getting outdoors, camping, and learning new skills in a safe and welcoming environment.

Boy Scouting is for boys ages 11 to 17 who experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Camping, fun with friends -- and more.

Some of the things scouts do is:

■ Summit a mountain
■ Camp in the desert
■ Hit the lake waterskiing
■ Make a splint in the wild
■ Master the rapids in a kayak
■ Backpack in the backcountry
■ Make camp in the snow



What Else Do Boy Scouts Do?

Boy Scouts help their community, earn service hours for school, do service projects. They learn to become a leader amongst their friends.

Are There Awards You Can Earn?

There are more than 150 awards you can earn as a Boy Scout. Whether it’s a rank advancement, merit badge, or one of the many other individual awards, there is plenty for you to set your sights on.
