Scout-O-Rama

Scout-O-Rama is the biggest local Scouting event of the year. With over 2,000 in attendance, 45 unit booths, food vendors, and other community organizations, Scout-O-Rama is an awesome day of fun. Camporee

A camporee is a gathering of Boy Scouting units for a weekend full of scouting activities relating to a theme or location. Past camporees have included themes related to Medieval campouts, Civil War re-enactments, space and science to name a few. Webelos Week at the Sea Base

Incoming 4th and 5th graders are invited to this special week. Webelos can earn three pins: aquanaut, craftsman, and citizen. On Thursday, all Webelos, Bears and Wolves are invited for a fun day on the water. Earn activity badges and explore the Long Beach Sea Base in a week full of fun and excitement on the water! Cub-BOO-Ree

Family camping to the max! Every year, we invite all Cub Scouts – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos to bring their families out to Firestone Reservation in Brea. A quick drive from the Long Beach area, this weekend event spans two nights and packs in a lot of fun. 

Play miniature golf, pan for gold, climb a wall, play soccer, practice archery skills, play giant chess, go on an early morning hike to see the sunrise. Be sure to bring a pumpkin for Saturday night’s carving contest! And stick around for a Halloween themed movie outdoors on a big screen. Read More...

Our Scouts give over 35,000 hours of community service right back to the communities where they live. Without much fanfare or praise, Scouts regularly provide service to those in need. University of Scouting

At the University of Scouting, parents and Scout leaders from all program ages are encouraged to come learn about the latest Scouting news, pick up new strategies, fellowship with hundreds of other Scouters, and browse our midway during lunch to see some really cool things.

This one-night event will take place at every public elementary school in Long Beach and Bellflower Unified School Districts. World Jamboree

On In 2015, more than 30,000 Scouts and leaders from 161 countries around the world will converge on Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi, Japan, for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree. 

The event will provide opportunities to raise awareness about global issues, explore the environment, participate in community service, make friends from around the world, and deepen understanding of developments in science and technology. The world jamboree is a unique opportunity for participants to experience an exciting program of activities, including: Global Development Village, City of Science, Cross Road of Culture, and the Peace Program. Read More...

 

Summer Camp

Picture this: boys splashing into a cold pool on a hot day, an archery bow stretched tight by a small hand pointed at a colorful bull’s-eye 30 feet away, hikers on a brush laden trail stopping to admire a spider forming its web in a tree and teams of two paddling wildly in a six-boat canoe race on a shimmering lake.

At camp, boys gain a positive sense of self worth and usefulness through serving others. Majorities of boys serve their peers at camp through helping clean up campsites, helping clean up after meals, and serving food. Read More...
