Cub Scouting

Cub Scouting

If you have a boy in first through fifth grade (age 6-10), then Cub Scouting is for you and your family! Family involvement is essential to Cub Scouting’s success.

Some of the best things about Cub Scouting are the activities you'll explore together:

  • Visit a fire station
  • Take a day hike
  • Race model cars
  • Collect bugs
  • Roast marshmallows

Cub Scouts Belong to a Pack and a Den

Every Cub Scout is a member of a Cub Scout pack. A pack is a large group of boys.

The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. Each den has about 6 to 8 boys. All Cub Scouts in a den are in the same grade. Think of dens as grades and the pack as the entire elementary school.

In Cub Scouting you’ll have lots of fun, adventure, and activities with your den and pack.

Most dens meet anywhere from 2-3 times per month with activities in between. Dens are coordinated by a den leader - a parent volunteer just like yourself. Packs are led by a Cubmaster and a Committee Chair, also parent volunteers.
