It's coming! The Long Beach Area Council's biggest Cub Camp-Out of the year! Last year we had almost 700 in attendance, and this year we have a bigger venue with more activities to offer! For those of you that haven't heard, the Long Beach Area Council's program will be held on October 20-22, 2017 at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area!
Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area is nestled at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains and is considered one of the many hidden jewels of Southern California. This 836-acre facility boasts a serene 70-acre lake with year-round fishing and non-motorized watercraft usage. The facility is home to many protected native plants and animals. The Nature Center is operated and staffed by volunteers of the San Gabriel Mountains Regional Conservancy offering educational, interpretive and walking tours throughout the year.
All paid youth in attendance will receive an Event Patch and units will be able to earn Event Ribbons for their flags.
The Cub Boo Ree Committee is still looking for Adult Volunteers to work Ranges, there may certification trainings opening up if we have enough interest. If you would like to renew or become certified to run a BB, Sling Shot and/or Archery Range please contact Joseph Lopez.
More information will be available as we get closer the registration period.
Every October, we invite all Cub Scouts – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos – to bring their families out for a fun weekend. A quick drive from the Long Beach area, this weekend event spans two nights and packs in a lot of fun.
Individual registrations are welcome, but most dens and packs sign up together! Food and camping supplies not provided. Please arrange to cook for your pack throughout the weekend.
For more information, please contact Joe Lopez.
